SUMMER 2022
THE EVOLED NETWORK NEWSLETTER

It has been an eventful quarter for The Evolved Network, NFP.

Let us catch you up on what’s been going on and exciting events and activities to mark on your calendar.

We partnered with TEAM EDIFYE,
Indiana Pacers guard Keifer Sykes, and the Gardeneers as Sebastian led a culinary demonstration with students from Sarah E. Goode Stem Academy. Keifer Sykes discussed the evolution of his eating habits and conducted a Q&A with students.

Joined forces with My Block My Hood My City (Mx3), a notable Chicago nonprofit, where we hosted two successful sessions for youth this summer. Hosting classes with (Mx3) is expected to continue into the fall.

At St. Sabina Academy and Pulaski International School we finished our spring curriculum.

Unfortunately, June quickly took a turn as Sebastian dealt with a severe illness and was hospitalized for two weeks. Sebastian recovered and got right back to work around the end of June.
Just in time to fulfill The Evolved Network’s summer promise to provide weekly programming to both The Montessori School of Englewood (TMSOE) and two partnered programs through The Stein Learning Gardens (St. Sabina Church) with The Ark and the Chicago Park District.

(TEN) also provided two pop up culinary demonstrations with The Gardeneers through their partnership with After School Matters.

Our Programs require individual, group, and corporate giving. The Evolved Network, NFP needs your financial and in-kind support.

Community Updates
On June 1st, The Evolved Network hosted a Virtual Round Table Discussion with local James Beard award winning chefs, chef owners, professors, teachers, non-profit: founders, executives, and coordinators to discuss the establishment of community amongst ourselves. We also explored the lived projects and experiences of the communities (TEN) and other Chicago Nonprofits are confronting in our work with youth, and detailing the particulars in our missions both concretely and philosophically. We plan to continue these conversations and see further growth in our missions.

TEN with Michelin-trained Chef Francis Pascal

On August 21st, Sebastian co-lead a virtual demonstration of Shrimp and Grits with special guest: Michelin-trained Chef Francis Pascal. We had a great time. Please support Chef Francis Pascal and be on the look out for our future classes and collaborations.

Lastly, August and September are special months for us at The Evolved Network. We'd like to wish our honored heroes William White Jr. (August 27th) and Gwen Barjon (September 25th) a happy heavenly birthday. Thank you for the lives you lived and how they inspired us.
